South Sydney Rabbitohs Head Coach Anthony Seibold is keen to get the ball rolling in 2018 and continue implementing his game model in the run towards the first competitive hit out.
With the 13-day Christmas break over, the players have been back working hard the last week and Coach Seibold has been impressed with their quick return to form.
“We came back last Wednesday and it’s been a pretty solid couple of days we did some testing when we initially came back but it’s now time to get into the football side of things now,” said Coach Seibold.
With a close to full squad now in office, ‘Seibs’ is focusing on every training session with extreme attention and making sure the players are aware of how to achieve their goals this season.
“Before Christmas it was about teaching the guys how we want them to train and I think going forward it’s about installing our game model and how we want to play,” he added.
“It’s about ingraining in the group the expectations around their behaviours in training so between now and our trial games it’s about the installation of our game model.”
With World Cup stars Sam Burgess, Thomas Burgess, Robbie Farah and Dane Gagai returning Coach Seibold knows that training is about to take a step up with their leaders returning.
“It’s exciting to get Sam back he is one of our leaders and Dane Gagai has had a brilliant season with Queensland and Australia I know the guys are pretty pumped about him starting here and I know gags is pretty exciting as well,” he said.
“We’ve got a lot of work to do on our footy we’ve just got keep chipping away and getting back.”
