Selfies and signings in the Redfern sun

Members and supporters from across the country filled the stands of Redfern Oval to witness the South Sydney Rabbitohs host an Open Training Day last Monday.

On a typical sweltering Sydney day, the Red and Green players were put through their paces. It was a workout compiling of everything from beep tests to game simulations, to short kicking drills. The heat didn’t give up and neither did the players.

Members from far and wide were able to see first hand which players were leading from the front and who they think are likely to have a big season based on their efforts.

Connor Tracey was one player who left a lasting impression on the crowd as he took the training up a notch to finish first in the beep test, and not for the first time.

With the training session winding up at midday, Members and supporters were given the chance to rub shoulders with the squad for selfies, signatures and words of encouragement for the season ahead.

After a rigorous seven weeks of pre-season, the squad will enjoy a well-deserved break over the Christmas period before returning on January 4 in preparation for the first trial match against Wigan at ANZ Stadium on February 17.
