Souths Cares and Rabbitohs players bring Xmas cheer to Redfern community

Souths Cares and Rabbitohs players Ky Rodwell, Lucky Ta'avale and Mawene Hiroti attended the Redfern Community Centre’s Christmas party yesterday as part of Souths Cares ‘Gift of Giving’ campaign.

The festivities kicked off at 3pm with Souths Cares running the always popular ‘pass the ball’ inflatable game which gives children a chance to test their passing skills against the Rabbitohs players.

Souths Cares donated 300 presents to the event, which were handed out by the Rabbitohs players from a giant Christmas Stocking.

Rabbitohs up-and-comer Lucky Ta’avale explained doing community work was an important part of playing for the Rabbitohs.  ‘The local community here in Redfern shows the team a lot of support, and it’s important that we give back as well, especially around Christmas time’  Ta’avale explained.

This Christmas Souths Cares are asking our members and supporters make a donation to the charity, which will enable us to continue supporting our local community. To donate to Souths Cares, click here
