Sam Burgess' Positive Attitude

A positive attitude to life can help benefit both a person’s mental and emotional state.

Focusing on the bright side of life and expecting positive results has helped Rabbitohs star Sam Burgess get back on the field quicker than expected after picking an injury in the first game of the Rugby League World Cup.

“I’m always pretty positive when I get niggles and injury,” said Burgess.

"We have a great medical staff who have done a fantastic job who have worked over time the past few weeks.”

Burgess’ timely return after just three weeks on the sidelines is a massive boost for England as they get ready for their crunch clash with PNG.

“Sam’s an absolute world class player and we’re pleased to have him back,” said England Coach Wayne Bennett.

After spending most of his World Cup in rehab, Burgess has finally got back to doing what he loves most, playing footy.

“It’s good just to be around the team.”

“Running in rehab you start to feel a bit lonely at times but it’s just good to be around the team it’s a great atmosphere,

“We’re 3 or 4 weeks in to the campaign now so things are sharpening up so it’s good to be back out there.”

“We all know we have limited time in this competition so we got to work pretty fast and we’ve managed to get back out on to the field quite comfortably.”
