Rabbitohs Plan Preseason Camp At AIS

Anthony Seibold and Paul Devlin have lined up a preseason camp at Australia's strategic high perfromance sports agency - the Australian Institute of Sport.

In January the team and the coaching staff will be heading down to the world-class facilities of the AIS in Canberra, where the players will be given the opportunity to work at one of the top sporting facilities in the country for a week.

“Essentially athletes that want to win a gold medal for Australia go to the AIS to train and get themselves best prepared for their specific competition,” said Head of High Performance Paul Devlin.

At AIS the team will have access to a wide range of world class services that will best help them get most out their talents

The team will also have the chance to work together as a full squad for the first time in this pre-season.

“Anthony Seibold, Brock Schaefer (Football Operations Manager) and myself spent some time down there and looked for the best place in Australia to give us the best possible preparation for round one and the NRL in 2018," said Devlin.

“Anthony thought the AIS was that place and we completely agree so we can’t wait to get down there.

“After the camp we really ramp up the football preparation, so it is important for us that the players get the best out of their time at AIS.

“We’ve got a couple of trial games we’re really excited about. We’re looking forward to playing an English team first up and then after that we head down to Mudgee for the Charity shield before heading over to Perth for round one.

“We’ve planned all that now so it’s really exciting for the staff and the players so we’re really looking forward to getting started.”
