Rabbitohs hooker Robbie Farah has been selected at halfback for the Lebanon Cedars for their opening clash of the Rugby League World Cup against France this Sunday in Canberra.

Farah will captain the Cedars in just his second Test for the Lebanese side, his first Test appearance for his nation in 15 years.

Farah was named captain of Lebanon prior to the tournament and will become the Rabbitohs’ ninth International captain, joining Arthur Hennessy (Australia), Clive Churchill (Australia), John Sattler (Australia), Bob McCarthy (Australia), Ron Coote (Australia), Roy Asotasi (New Zealand, Samoa), Nigel Vagana (Samoa) and Sam Burgess (England) as players who have captained their nation whilst playing for the Rabbitohs.

Rabbitohs under 20s player Adam Doueihi has been selected on the extended bench for this very important Pool A clash in Canberra on Sunday afternoon, with North Sydney Bears player Abbas Miski named on the wing.
