He ended his time in Red and Green with a double against the Sharks in 2016, now he's earmarked to line-up against the Rabbitohs when Wigan and Souths clash in a pre-season double header at ANZ Stadium on Saturday 17 February.
Joe Burgess proved a handy mid-season pick-up for the Rabbitohs in 2016, after getting limited game time at the Roosters, with the international winger scoring 5 tries in 9 games for Souths.
His time at Souths certainly helped sharpen Burgess as he went on to score a hat-trick in Wigan's World Club Challenge win over the Sharks only a few month after being back in the cherry and white.
Tickets go on sale today for the massive double header involving Souths, Wigan, St George-Illawarra and Hull and CEO Blake Solly is excited to continue the Rabbitohs tradition of strengthening Rugby League internationally.
“The Rabbitohs are delighted to be taking part in this historic game to kick off our pre-season matches next year, and it demonstrates the commitment we have to the international game and exposing our Club to the global sporting community," said Rabbitohs CEO Blake Solly.
