We Want To Finish With A Great Performance

As the countdown ticks away for the final game of the Rabbitohs 2017 season, head coach Michael Maguire spoke to the media ahead of the round 26 clash against the Parramatta Eels.

Reflecting on last week’s result against Melbourne, Maguire said it was a tough loss to take but that his players are looking to put their best performance forward for tonight’s match.

“It was obviously a tough one,” said Maguire.

“The boys got hit by a very strong Melbourne Storm team and they managed to get the momentum on us and they took it and they took it in a big way.

“Our boys obviously reflected and it’s tough to take but what we have now is a game on Friday to go out there and put our best performance out there.”

As the Rabbitohs missed out on a finals position, Maguire states that they still have a fair bit to play for and have ambitions to finish off the season with a win.

“We’ve got a fair bit to play for from last week. We’ve got a hell of a lot to play for and we also want to make sure that we finish in a great performance and the way we know we can play.

“I know one thing that our boys want to do is turn up and have a good performance.”

Following the final buzzer, the Rabbitohs will come in for a week of reviews before their off-season commences.

“We’ll have a review week next week and then the boys will get away. I think the boys are pretty keen to keep training actually, they would have like to be playing through until this next month but it’s not to be but it’s what you take from this year into next year is a real key and I’m sure our boys will be doing that.”
