"There’s Honestly No Lack Of Effort"

Angus Crichton describes the push for the Rabbitohs to pull together as a team and put their best performances out onto the field starting with the Cronulla Sharks this Friday.

“It’s really getting to the pointy end of the season now so it’s kind of do or die for us,” explained Crichton.

“Every week we’ve got to put our best performance in and it’s really just a time for us when we have to pull together as a team to put our best performances back to back now.”

Answering the difficult question of what is going wrong in the team, Crichton is honest to say that he does not know and personally he is concentrating on his performance.

“If I could tell you, I honestly would. It’s really hard to put your finger on it. Obviously as players each week we go out there trying to do our best and there’s honestly no lack of effort there.

“We’ve just got to keep working on bettering our game each week and personally, myself that’s all I can control so I’m trying to work on making my performance stronger and definitely helping the team.”

Teammate Robert Jennings, who returned to the field on the weekend from injury, backs Crichton’s comments and says that the focus is on the Sharks who he describes will be a tough match but one that his side will be ready for.

“Obviously the boys are disappointed in the game on the weekend and our main focus now is to hopefully get the two points this week and to get that win,” said Jennings.

“It is frustrating obviously with the position we are in but we’ve got the short turn around this week so our main focus is getting our recovery right, our bodies right and play good footy on Friday.

“They are a good team and it’s going to be a tough match but we are ready for it.”
