Sam Burgess describes the mindset for making it to finals footy and the cemented determination his team has to get the two points each week.
“Certainly we are going into every game well prepared,” Burgess explained.
“We are there to get two points and if you’re not thinking to win a game every weekend then you probably shouldn’t be there.
“We are preparing and concentrating week by week. We’ve got a great task this weekend playing the Cowboys up in Cairns. It’s always great up there, we always get a good crowd and it’s a good atmosphere at Barlow Park so we are looking forward to it and it will be a good challenge again.”
With the Rabbitohs Round 19 clash with the Cowboys scheduled to kick off on Sunday at 4pm, Burgess enjoys the trip up North and explains from a leader’s perspective, what he expects from the younger players.
“I really enjoy going to Cairns, it’s another chance we get to travel as a team.
“You’ve really just got to enjoy every day and come to training with a good mindset to improve and to not get too far ahead of yourself. We played our best football at the backend of last year when I guess the pressure was off. So we will take that pressure off come to training enjoy ourselves and look to improve.”
