We Can’t Look Back On Those Losses: Cook

Damien Cook reflected on last week’s result describing the atmosphere around the Club as the South Sydney side push to improve and better themselves as a team.

“Obviously after a close loss we are pretty disappointed,” said Cook.

“But around the Club everyone is still loving coming into training and just looking to get better and better each day.

“I think that’s the biggest thing over the last month is that we’ve improved a lot as a team, obviously come a lot closer together and there is a lot more working for each other on the field which is a big positive for us.”

Cook explains his frustration with the recent results as he believes his team is training hard and putting in the effort that isn’t reflected on the ladder.

“It’s frustrating because I know the team we’ve got and how good a team we do have and the training we do.

“We are training very hard and in some games we are playing some really good footy and not coming away with the win, they have been the most hurtful.”

Despite his frustration, Cook is looking forward to the match ahead against the Titans before the team head into their second bye for the season.

“A lot of effort is there but we can’t look back on those losses now, we’ve just got to look to this week against the Titans leading into the bye and getting the win this weekend.”

Training hard for their Round 15 clash against the Titans, Cook explains the importance for the Club to bring home a win.

“It’s very important to get the victory this weekend,” explained Cook.

“We haven’t had too many wins in the first half of the season and there are not many games to go so if we are going to be in the finals we need to start putting some wins together.”
