Hunt Excited To Play Old Club

Hymel Hunt will take the field against the club he made his NRL debut with when the Rabbitohs take on the Gold Coast Titans at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.

Hunt is excited to play against the team despite missing the chance to go up agianst his good mate Kane Elgey who is out of the clash due to an injury.

“I’m good mates with Kane Elgey there so I’m excited to go up against them but they are my old club and I played one first grade game there and a few 20s games there so I’m just really excited to play them.”

On top of injuries, the Gold Coast team are missing players due to State of Origin selection and despite wanting to go up against a full strength side, Hunt is focused only on the Souths side.

“We can only focus on ourselves.

“I’d love to verse a full strength team but obviously they are not and we’ve just got to take advantage of that.”

Alex Johnston agreed with Hunt’s thoughts with the focus aimed at the Rabbitohs game plan and looking to get the two-points.

“They have a few players out with Origin,” said Johnston.

“But I think we have to focus on ourselves and if we play good enough footy we will get the win.

“We believe in ourselves and I think this week we have a good opportunity to do a bit better than we did against Brisbane and get the two-points.”
