Sutton Surpasses 300 All Grade Games

Club legend John Sutton will play his 300th match in all grades for Souths this Friday against the Titans surpassing Craig Coleman's record of 297 games to become the most capped Rabbitohs player of all time.

The massive milestone is well deserved for the veteran Souths Junior after playing 14 seasons with the Rabbitohs since his debut in Round 17, 2004.

A three times George Piggins medallist, Sutton's dedication has seen the Club go from wooden spooners in his debut season to Premiers in the historic 2014 season.

With the Gold Coast Titans out to spoil the occasion for Club legend Sutton, his South Sydney brothers have pledged to give it their all to secure victory against the visitors on this special occasion.

"We do need to get a win and we'll be trying our hardest this week. It's John Sutton's 300th appearance for South Sydney and it'll be occasion so we'll all be working hard to put some of those wrongs right," said Rabbitohs forward Thomas Burgess.

Last year in Round 17, John Sutton broke history to become the first Rabbitoh to play 250 first grade games. A moment that Rabbitohs fullback Cody Walker is proud to have been a part of.

"It's John Sutton's 300th game for the Club this weekend. I don't think it's ever been done before.I got to play with 'Sutto' in his 250th game so it's a massive occasion this weekend," said fullback Cody Walker.

"We were in that game (against Broncos) on the weekend - the effort and all that was there but it wasn't good enough. We're looking to turn it around this weekend against the Titans."
