Michael Maguire is looking to see a thorough performance in tonight’s Round 14 match against the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.
“Our boys over the last couple of weeks have put a lot of work in and they’ve been really focused about making sure they perform well,” said Head Coach Michael Maguire.
“We’ve had a good two weeks and the boys have prepared really well and looking forward to getting back into footy again.”
The Rabbitohs come into the clash after a Bye Round with Maguire describing the break as an opportunity that has freshened up his players and he is hoping it follows through with a win tonight.
“To be able to get the break has definitely freshened up our players, it’s been a good break for our boys but at the end of the day it will be a good break by going out and having a good performance.
“We’ve been able to have a bit of a look at ourselves, look at our game and the style of how we are playing and making sure that we go out there and just do that every single play.”
Maguire continues to give an insight into the two weeks away describing the energy around training and how they can use the energy on game day.
“There’s a lot of energy around training and it’s a good place to be.
“We’ve got to make sure we use that now and go into the game up in Brissy and use that energy, put on the players we want to put on and defend the way we know we can.”
Despite some results not going in our favour, Maguire has a large amount of confidence in his team and knows their capabilities can produce strong performances.
“I’m really confident in our team. I have a lot of confidence in what are players have been doing.
“If they go out and do the things I know they are capable of well I’m looking forward to a really strong and good performance.”
