Rabbitohs Fresh Ahead Of Brisbane Clash

Passing the halfway mark of the 2017 Telstra NRL Premiership, Rabbitohs forward Kyle Turner has pointed to the old cliché, one week at a time, as how the Rabbitohs will have to approach the second half of the season.

Citing attitude as a key factor in the team's recent results, Turner is looking for consistency ahead of our Round 14 clash with the Brisbane Broncos. The second-rower also states there is belief inside the Rabbitohs camp that a string of good results in our remaining fixtures can put Souths back in contention.

"The time off gave us a bit of time to relax, enjoy each others company and go away and look at the things we need to improve on," said Turner.

"Brisbane have got a great team; fast backs, big forwards - we really need to match them and come with the right attitude."

"The thing is with this competition; it's very close. You've just got to take it a week at a time. That old cliché."

When asked about Head Coach Maguire's post-match 'blow up' that circulated in the media following the Parramatta result, Turner defended his coach's actions. He admits it was probably necessary and knows the Head Coach only has the best at heart for his playing squad.

"Yeah, once or twice before, there were a couple games last year he blew up a bit but it's well warranted and he needed to rip it up us a bit," said Turner.

"He's a very passionate man and all he wants is for us boys to go out and perform the way he knows we can. Lately we haven't been performing the way we should and our consistency hasn't been there.

"Once we start playing some good football he'll just be happy for us to be out there and enjoying it."
