I’m Looking Forward To Doing It All Again: Gray

Aaron Gray admits he pulled up a little sore over the weekend after his first competitive NRL fixture since September… And he’s excited to do it all again this Sunday against the Melbourne Storm at nib Stadium.

Deployed on the wing in Maguire’s backline, Gray was a solid figure on the right edge with Hymel Hunt – helping to reduce the Wests Tigers to only one try over the 80 minutes.

Speaking to the NRL Media, Gray was all smiles as he spoke about his return from injury:

“It was good to get back out there after a while off,” said Gray.

“I hadn’t played any solid footy since Round 26 last year. I think I got 45 seconds max in the 9s (Auckland 9s) and that was about it so it was a bit of a shock to the system waking up after the game.

“The body was pretty sore but I’m looking forward to doing it all again next week.”

Gray’s return comes at a good time for the Rabbitohs as we set off to Perth to clash with the 1st-placed Melbourne Storm.

Maguire’s backline will face a good challenge in keeping Suliasi Vunivalu, Will Chambers, Cheyse Blair and Josh Addo-Carr at bay at nib Stadium. Gray is excited by the challenge and is keen to take the field this Sunday.

“They’ve got some speed and size about them,” said Gray.

“I watched a game a couple weeks ago and both their wingers are going really well so I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
