Sutton Comfortable At Five-Eighth

With over 180 NRL games experience at five-eighth, John Sutton says he felt comfortable making the switch to the halves in our Round 10 clash over the Wests Tigers and is keen to do his job next to Adam Reynolds this Sunday against the Melbourne Storm.

Head Coach Michael Maguire approached Sutton earlier in the week to shift into five-eighth after the Rabbitohs boss devised a line-up reshuffle to move Cody Walker to fullback.

“Madge asked me to play five-eighth again and I felt pretty good,” said Sutton.

“I like playing five-eighth and steering the boys around but I’m just happy to play wherever and get the wins.”

After helping his team record their fourth win of the season in his old position, Sutton is looking for his team to build on their performance against the table-topping Melbourne Storm.

“We had a good win but we’ve got a tough opponent this week,” said Sutton.

“They’re leading the competition for a reason so we’ve just got to make sure we focus on what we need to do and go through our week.

“We’ve still got a lot of work to do and we’ve just got to make sure we keep training hard and put another good performance in.”
