Five Katherine primary schools battled it out yesterday (Friday) on the rugby field to snatch the 2017 Luke Kelly Cup. 

After a close game it was Casuarina Street Primary School who took out the cup.

The round robin competition ran all day with the final played at 1.30pm at the Town Oval. 

Clyde Fenton Primary is the school to beat after they took our the title last year.

The annual tournament is named after Katherine‚Äôs own Luke Kelly, who is with the South Sydney Rabbitohs for the 2017 NRL Season

After starting out at the Katherine Bushrangers in the Northern Territory Rugby League competition, Kelly then moved to Sydney to boarding school, where he starred as a playmaker at fame league nursery, St Gregory's College, Campbelltown.
