Since my injury occurred, I’ve kept a positive mind about it. Madge (Head Coach Michael Maguire) rang me and we had a really good chat about what the next steps were. Obviously you can’t do much being in a brace for six weeks and walking around on crutches. We had a chat pretty much every day and he asked me if I would take on a coaching role to help the back five, the back five being the centres, wingers and fullbacks within the squad.
The majority of them are young, pretty much all of them are really young. There is only me and Bryson Goodwin that are in our thirties within those backs. Bry is an experienced player, he has played international and played 100 plus first grade games, so it helps me out having him there, having his opinion as well when we go through meetings and go through week to week about what we need to improve on.
