International and Flexi Member, Mark Gunnell, started off his trip to Australia with an experience he won’t forget and will take home with him the signed training boots of his favourite player Adam Reynolds.
Visiting from Washington D.C., Gunnell was treated to an unexpected day when his friend drove him over to Rabbitohs HQ to see where his favourite team trains.
“I started following the Rabbitohs five years ago,” explained Gunnell.
“I never thought I would be able to meet them and speak to them like I did today!”
Gunnell first decided to support an NRL team after signing up to pay TV in the U.S. and finding the sport of rugby league. After watching a game in the early hours of the morning, Gunnell made the decision to cheer for the red and green jersey and hasn’t looked back since.
After visiting the Merchandise shop, the timing of his visit enabled him to watch a training session and meet some of the players at the Simply Energy High Performance Centre at Redfern Oval.
“My favourite player is Adam Reynolds and not only did I get to meet him but he gave me his boots.
“This is the best day of my life.”
Gunnell plans to make it to as many Rabbitohs events as he can in the next four weeks in Australia, starting off with the Rabbitohs Members Open training session on Monday.
