Alex Johnston has many tries to his name and is looking forward to slamming the ball down over the line again this season when he takes the field on Friday night against the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium.
“I’m excited to get out there,” said Johnston.
“I just really want to play and get my first touch to the ball and hopefully score a try.”
Johnston’s focus is to aim for his best season yet and do that by starting off on the right foot.
“Personally I’m really just trying to play the best season that I’ve had so far, I mean last season wasn’t the best for most of us so we are really trying to change that and start off on the right foot.”
Leaving the 2016 season behind, Johnston is confident the new additions to the Rabbitohs team this year have allowed a depth in the squad that he describes as something special.
“We have a clean slate and have all the different staff in and a lot of young boys that have come in and are really pushing us and our senior players and having that depth I think it is really creating something special.”
