Rabbitohs forward Anthony Cherrington will pull on the Auckland Nines jersey this weekend, marking the first time he will wear the iconic bunny on his chest.

“I’m very honoured and very excited as well,” said Cherrington.

“Honestly that’s why I came here. The goal was to put on the bunnies jersey this year, to put it on so early is obviously a big tick in the box.”

Cherrington has high expectations for the weekend ahead with the squad aiming to not only reach the grand final match but to bring home the win for the red and green.

“I think we are going to go really well, there’s some good combinations in our side and everyone’s been training really really hard.

“The grand final is obviously where we want to go and everyone’s heading in the right direction.”
