The 2017 Charity Shield match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the St George Illawarra Dragons has been confirmed to be played at ANZ Stadium on Sunday 19 February with kick off scheduled for 4pm AEDST.
2017 will mark the 35th anniversary of the first Charity Shield played between the Rabbitohs and the Dragons back in 1982, and will be played at the family-friend time of 4pm on a Sunday to enable as many of the Club’s Members and supporters to enjoy an afternoon of football at the Rabbitohs’ home ground of ANZ Stadium.
The Charity Shield will be the second full-format pre-season game for the Rabbitohs in 2017, with South Sydney set to take on Manly-Warringah at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday 11 February, preceded by the NRL Auckland Nines on 4-5 February.
Tickets for the 2017 Charity Shield will go on sale in January. Keep an eye on Members communications and www.rabbitohs.com.au for more details.
