Colgate Protecting Rabbitohs’ Teeth Again in 2017

The South Sydney Rabbitohs will be showing their Colgate Smiles on the field once again in 2017 with the Rabbitohs being fitted for mouthguards for the upcoming season.

All South Sydney NRL and NYC players will wear the well-known Colgate brand on their mouthguards throughout the season, with Rhino Mouthguards professionally fitting all squad members to ensure that their teeth are protected.

Junior Rugby League players will be able to follow suit and showcase their Colgate Smile in 2017 by visiting Rhino Mouthguards in Clovelly.

The partnership between Souths and Colgate is supported by a number of community-led programs, driven by South Cares and Colgate’s Bright Smiles, Bright Futures oral health care program.

Colgate’s Bright Smiles, Bright Future message will be delivered by Rabbitohs players and Souths Cares as part of the Friendly Schools and Regional Tours Program. This initiative will be implemented within both the Sydney Metropolitan Area and regional towns in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.

The aim of the program is to target young and disadvantaged children and teaching them the importance of regular brushing and healthy gums. Souths Cares aims to reach up to 20,000 kids each year, with each child involved to receive an oral health pack from Colgate.

Currently, Rabbitohs’ players Connor Tracey and Brett Greinke are touring the mid-north coast of New South Wales with the teams from Souths Cares and Colgate, delivering the Bright Smiles, Bright Future message to around 1000 school students. Keep an eye on www.rabbitohs.com.au for more information, photos and videos from this trip over the coming week.

Souths Cares General Manager, Brock Schaefer, said: “Souths Cares is tremendously appreciative of Colgate’s ongoing support for our Health Pillar.

“More than 9000 young people have taken part in the Souths Cares Indigenous Oral Health Program since 2014.

“The support of Colgate has meant that each of those young people have left their visit with a complete Oral Health Kit and a variety of supporting material that will promote good behaviours into the future.

“Another 1000 young people on the mid-north coast of New South Wales will benefit from Colgate’s support with Connor Tracey, Brett Greinke, Beau Champion and Roy Asotasi currently delivering the Oral Health Promotion in places like Taree and Forster.

“It’s a joy to speak to our players when they return from an Oral Health Tour as they are so genuinely excited and moved by being able to have such a tangible and positive impact on the lives of young people.”

Colgate will also be providing Souths Juniors clubs with the opportunity to take part in Mini-League matches on the field at ANZ Stadium. Additionally, there will be a Colgate Kidzone at Rabbitohs home games at ANZ Stadium in 2017. The Kidzone will have a range of activities for young rugby league fans and give them a chance to meet Colgate’s mascot, Dr. Rabbit.

Colgate have re-signed as the Rabbitohs Official Oral Hygiene Partner for a further two years, taking the partnership between the two organisations into its fifth year in 2017.
