Rabbitohs CEO Blake Solly has praised the dedication and tenacity of the Rabbitohs during the 2016 season and believes the rewards seen in the final weeks of the season, coupled with our strong off field development has given Members so much to look forward to in 2017 and beyond.
Speaking at our 2016 Red & Green Ball, Solly described his vision for the South Sydney Rabbitohs over the coming years which he feels will build off the foundation of a dedicated playing group and a multitude of off field projects that will provide prosperous years for the Club.
“We have so much to look forward to,” said Solly.
“The build of our community and high performance centre at Heffron, the continued growth in the work of Souths Cares, the relationship between Souths Juniors and the senior Club is as strong as it has ever been,
"There is a huge opportunity for the Club to take more control of its intellectual property and become recognized in world sport as a leader in the use of digital and social media. Finally, the benefits in the next five years of the billions of dollars in investment into the NRL by broadcasters and government with new stadia, more sustainable clubs and increased funding to grass roots rugby league.
“It’s a special time to be a Rabbitoh.”
Solly was confident this off field growth will be matched by the on field results of our playing group after a tough season showcased the dedication of Maguire and his men during the final fixtures of the year.
It was this dedication and tenacity and its carry through into the off season that gives the Rabbitohs CEO faith that the foundation is firm for big results in the next few seasons.
“An example of this dedication was clear in the week after the final win against the Bulldogs," said Solly.
“Whilst other Clubs were enjoying their Mad Mondays - our players and coaches were visiting hospitals, sponsors and remote NSW and NT communities, engaging with the Rabbitohs family and the wider community at all times,
“While the history and heritage of the Club is secure, I sincerely believe the next years will be the best years of the Rabbitohs."
