NFL Superstar Marshawn ‘Beast Mode’ Lynch became an honorary Rabbitoh when he joined the players and coaches at the Simply Energy High Performance Centre at Redfern Oval today (Thursday), where he learned a few Rugby League skills and passed on some tips of his own to the men in red and green.
Lynch, a Superbowl champion with the Seattle Seahawks, was presented with a Rabbitohs jersey donning his famous number 24, a Rabbitohs cap, and was taught some key Rugby League tips including playing the ball with John Sutton, scoring a try in the corner, goal kicking with sharp-shooter Adam Reynolds, kicking with Greg Inglis and tackling with Cameron McInnes.
He also learnt about the efforts of Sam Burgess in the 2014 Grand Final, playing the entire match with a broken face, as well as seeing the freakish try scored by ‘GI’ against the Broncos in 2014, a try that has been likened to Beast Mode’s unbelievable touch down known as the Beast Quake. Lynch also spoke to the media gathered at Redfern Oval, alongside Sam Burgess, talking about his visit to the Rabbitohs and his love for Sydney:
