It's Paul Mellor's Birthday today and a fitting chance to look at the incredible record the former Rabbitoh still holds to this day!

Paul Mellor is the youngest player to make his first-grade debut for the Rabbitohs. Mellor, who played on the wing or in the centres, made his debut in the Red and Green at the age of 16 years and 10 months on June 30th 1991 against the Gold Coast Chargers in Round 14 at the Sydney Football Stadium.

The Rabbitohs claimed a 34-18 victory as Mellor featured off the bench, but despite his mid-season debut, the Souths Junior would have to wait until the 1992 season to make his second appearance at the top level.

Playing 107 games for the Rabbitohs from 1991-96 and 2006-07, Mellor had stints at the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and Castleford Tigers, scoring 108 tries in a his 261 game career.
