Rabbitohs forward Sam Burgess has been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee with a grade one dangerous contact charge arising from yesterday’s game against the Canberra Raiders.

The base penalty for the charge is 100 points.

If Burgess takes the early guilty plea he will attract 75 points which means he is free to play against the Melbourne Storm this Saturday night and will have 75 carry over points.

If Burgess fights the charge and loses, he will miss one match. If he fights the charge and wins he will be free to play against the Storm and have no carry over points.

Keep an eye on for further updates.
