In lieu of regular host Jeremy Monahan, Mark Ellison and Hostplus link up with Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire to give you the inside look at Sunday's clash with the Canberra Raiders.
Heading towards our Members Appreciation Round at ANZ Stadium on Sunday, Maguire believes his team needs to improve their focus before taking the field against the Canberra Raiders.
"Our focus around certain areas of our game, once again, is something we need to work hard at," Maguire stated.
"I felt that our two halves really got together last night and Cody Walker buzzing around out the back providing a lot opportunity for us - It's about giving ourselves opportunity in those key moments."
Maguire points to the evidence of our second half effort against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles as a show of what his Rabbitohs can achieve with a focused and high energy game.
The second half of our clash with the Sea Eagles was defined by a strong showing from the men in Red and Green which saw us notch two converted tries before a Joe Burgess effort was disallowed in a half where our defence only conceded two points from a penalty kick.
"When we did (give ourselves opportunity) Adam Reynolds really found his way in that second half and put on a great try and a good play on," said Maguire.
With a new challenge on the horizon in the form of the Canberra Raiders, Maguire is preparing his defence to face some ad-lib football.
"They're a team that likes to throw the ball around and they do chance, they chance their hand," said Maguire.
"They do shift around and it gives you great opportunity to defensively force some errors,
"If we do that well we'll give ourselves a great chance of getting the ball and putting our play on."
The Coach is excited by the prospect of the battle in the middle of ANZ Stadium as an eager Rabbitohs forward pack, welcoming back Zane Musgrove, look to collide with the Raiders mobile pack.
"I think it'll be a big battle there in the middle," said Maguire.
"They've got a forward pack that like to take you on so I know our forwards will enjoy that.
"I saw some really good signs in that second half so I'm looking forward to seeing the boys really get that on against the Raiders."
