We Have To Keep Moving Forward: Johnston

Rabbitohs winger, Alex Johnston, knows that his side must focus on week to week performances as the back end of the season draws closer.

After missing out against the Broncos in Round 19, Johnston believes that his side must approach the remainder of the season one step at time, starting with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Allianz Stadium on Monday night.

“We’re not going too well at the moment, but obviously we’ve got to keep moving forward and have the belief that we can definitely win some games,” said Johnston.

“It all starts with this week. We need to get this win and we’ll go from there.”

Despite failing to secure the desired results in recent weeks, the Souths junior has a positive outlook on the brand of football that his side has been playing.

“I feel as though we’ve been building on something and I think if we just hold the ball and give ourselves the opportunity, we’ll go a lot better.”

“I know that we have the players to do it, we’ve just got to honestly hold the ball and give ourselves the best opportunity.

“Everyone is just trying a bit too hard and trying to create something when we don’t need to.”

Johnston will be looking to build upon his season tally of 7 tries and average of 99 metres with ball in hand when he lines up against the Sea Eagles on Monday night.
