Youth Leaders From Bowraville And Macksville Visit Rabbitohs Headquarters

Souths Cares hosted a group of 20 young people from Bowraville and Macksville today at the Rabbitohs team training session.

The group of 15 and 16 year olds are participating in the Nambucca Valley Sports Leadership and Wellbeing Program. The excursion to the Rabbitohs training session was a reward for the achievements the young people have made throughout the leadership program.

The group participated in a special workshop hosted by Souths Cares ambassador Beau Champion and also had a VIP tour of the Rabbitohs training facility.

"The young people got a lot out of today’s session," Beau explained.

"We spoke about the sacrifices and commitment which you need to make if you want to achieve your goals- whether they be in education, employment or on the sporting field."

Ricky Buchanan, Sports Coordinator of the leadership program explained many of the young people aspired to be like Greg Inglis, who also grew up in Macksville.

"Our young people in Macksville and Bowraville idolise Greg Inglis and he inspires many of our youth to stay on the right track and achieve their goals," said Ricky.

The group of young people will also be attending the Rabbitohs and Broncos game which will be played at ANZ stadium on Saturday night.
