Burning Questions – Rd 17 2016

With the Rabbitohs heading up north to take on the Cowboys in a home match at Barlow Park in Cairns, we’ve come up with these four burning questions ahead of this blockbuster match up.

1 - What will the Rabbitohs backline look like this week?

With Adam Reynolds expected to return at halfback this week, what will the Rabbitohs backline reshuffle look like? With Cody Walker, Alex Johnston, Aaron Gray and Ed Murphy all shifting positions at the kick off of the game against the Panthers, will we see a similar scenario against the Cowboys on Sunday?

2 - What lift will John Sutton’s 250th game milestone give to the team?

With John Sutton being one of the most respected leaders amongst the group, as well as being the first player in the Club’s history to play 250 first grade games for South Sydney, Sutton’s milestone is sure to elevate his team mates on Sunday afternoon.

How much so, we will have to wait and see.

3 - Does the Madge-ician have any more debutants up his sleeve?

With two players making their NRL debuts and on making his Club first grade debut last Friday, Head Coach Michael Maguire is not afraid to give a debutant a chance in the top grade.

As Madge says, adversity provides opportunity, so will we see Madge pull any more young Rabbitohs out of his hat.

With a nine-day turnaround between games, it would give the young players a solid preparation ahead of one of the Rabbitohs’ biggest games of the year.

4 - Hot or cold?

From three degrees in Penrith last week to an expected 25 degrees in Cairns on Sunday, will the Rabbitohs prefer the heat to the cold?

With only two points separating the teams last week, and an expected step up in competition against the Cowboys this week, the style of Sunday afternoon football could come into play, with afternoon matches generally producing a more free-flowing game of Rugby League.
