Two tries, both finished off by Slammin' Sam Burgess, in the space of five minutes saw your Rabbitohs threaten to steal victory from the Penrith Panthers last night (Friday) at Pepper Stadium!

Trailing by forteen points with six minutes left in the contest some rapid fire attacking movements saw big Sam cross twice to push the Rabbitohs to within two points of the Panthers.

Starting in the 74th minute a pinpoint attacking grubber from John Sutton was met by big Sam to ground for the first of two quick tries. Cody Walker wasted little time in converting the effort.

Buoyed by this breakthrough the Rabbitohs added another try in the 79th minute after Cody Walker found a gap in the Penrith defence to break clear before setting up Burgess to finish the second try. Walker again converted quickly to add the extras and leave us trailing by only two points.

It set up an anxious final minute in which your Rabbitohs looked eager to steal the win at Pepper Stadium but fell just short after Walker's probing run and kick in the final play of the game was inches away from setting Aaron Gray free.
