A Member’s Perspective – Rd 16 vs Panthers, 2016

This isn’t the season I expected back in March but that doesn’t mean a thing now. We have a task ahead and I believe we will take the challenge by the horns, crack that whip and give it a good hard go.

We have a few changes to our side and our Origin stars will be backing up, so taking on Penrith this week will need some guts and glory on display.

Is this the game we use to turn our season around?

Well, our line up looks good. Walker at one with Keary and Reynolds together in the halves is a solid combo. But having Inglis and Johnston together on one side…well…are we looking at scoring big points? What I would give for an Inglis/Johnston attacking play or two on the scoreboard!

We have such promise going into this game, and as we have all said time and time again, if we hold that ball we can beat anyone in front of us. Despite Reynolds’ two-day-turnaround into this game from Origin, I am sure we can dominate in the halves. Setting him up with good field position will be key. He has the boot, he has the support, so what is stopping us?

You know what...nothing is. This is the time to turn the ship, raise the sails and hit the high seas. No excuses. No backing down.

I know we will show up on and off the field in Penrith because we have to. We have what it takes. We have the passion, we have the numbers, we just need to dig in, dust it off and show everyone what we are made of.

So get on that M4 Rabbitohs Members. It’s time to take home two points!

If you have your colours, wear them.

If you have a flag, raise it.

And if you have a voice, bring it!

Our season starts now!

Up the mighty Rabbitohs!
