Sam – Perth a Rugby League Spectacle

Sam Burgess is looking forward to flying over to South Sydney’s Western Australian home of Perth to take on the Gold Coast Titans this Sunday at nib Stadium, as he and his men look to put on a spectacle.

“We’re looking forward to going to Perth,” admitted Burgess, who has previously made the trip.

“It’s always a great atmosphere over there – they fill the stadium out. Gold Coast have been in some good form, playing some exciting football, so I think it’ll be a great game, a good challenge from both teams and hopefully give the people of Western Australia a good spectacle of Rugby (League).

“Last few wins we were probably more like ourselves – we’ve still got a lot to work on as a team.”

But Burgess also took time out from preparations last night (Wednesday) by heading out to ANZ Stadium to watch State of Origin Game I, helping to cheer both Rabbitoh reps; Adam Reynolds and Greg Inglis.

Burgess admitted to being torn down the middle when it came to his allegiance.

“Straight down the middle,” smiled Burgess.

“I was out there live watching, so I was happy for both of them. I thought Adam did a great job – I thought the touches he had on the ball were great.

“Greg – Greg is Greg. He does his job when he needs to, so I’m looking forward to getting them back in our group and playing for us on Sunday, but I’m proud of their efforts last night.”
