Reynolds Picked for NSW

Rabbitohs halfback, Adam Reynolds, has today (Monday) been selected in Laurie Daley’s NSW State of Origin side for Game I of the 2016 Series in what will be his first Origin appearance.

Daley stopped short of naming his team in positions, citing wanting to “keep people guessing”, however, Reynolds is in line to wear the coveted Blues number seven jersey – as worn by Rugby League greats such as Andrew Johns, Peter Sterling, and Steve Mortimer – with Sharks five-eighth James Maloney his likely halves partner in steering the Blues around ANZ Stadium against Queensland.

A proud Souths Junior from the Alexandria Rovers and Kensington United Clubs, Reynolds has previously played top-flight representative football, having played one game for the Prime Minister's XIII (2015), two games for City Origin (2013-14), one game for the World All Stars (2016) and one game for the NRL All Stars (2013).

A key member of Souths’ 2014 Premiership victory, Reynolds is currently in his fifth season of first grade at the Club, having made his debut in Round 1 of the 2012 season. He has to date played 103 games – all for the Rabbitohs – while also having just last week notched up his 800th career point (16 tries and 364 goals).

Congratulations to Adam on his maiden State of Origin selection.
