For Adam Reynolds, finding out that he had made the New South Wales State of Origin team for Game I this year was a family affair.
With Blues Coach, Laurie Daley, calling Reynolds amidst a mini-Reynolds-riot at the halfback’s home with his three young kids, excitement only increased when the Souths Junior announced that he would be part of NSWs squad for Game I.
“I had the three kids running all around the house,” smiled Reynolds.
“They were very loud and the phone rang with Laurie’s name on it – I had to hush them down a little bit and be a bit quiet.
“I got the good news and the kids went off, so it was good.”
The Alexandria Rovers and Kensington United product added that he felt honoured to be selected.
“(I’m) very honoured and privileged,” added Reynolds.
“It’s been a dream of mine since I was a little kid – I used to replicate the likes of Andrew Johns and Brad Fittler and to finally pull on that Blue Jersey mate, it’s going to definitely be a proud moment for myself and for my family.”
