T. Burgess: Working on my Game

Rabbitohs prop forward, Thomas Burgess, says that he has been working diligently on his own game as his side prepares to take on the Parramatta Eels this Friday.

Burgess will partner Nathan Brown as part of an energetic looking front-this week, with brother Sam locking the scrum while twin-brother George will start from the bench.

“(I’m) just working through my game,” said Burgess.

“Like making sure I’m in the right positions when I need to be and all that sort of stuff.

“Obviously I’ve been able to top-up myself in this week off. Your body is not as sore from playing so it’s been good.

“It came at a good time for us. Everyone’s refreshed mentally – had the weekend off there and training was really good yesterday.

“We’re really confident about this week.”

The extra week off playing owing to the NRLs Representative Round, has given plenty of time to the men in Red and Green to go back and assess their game plan, with Burgess citing a focus on the little things as being central this week’s preparation.

“We spoke about probably just the little things in our game,” said Burgess.

“A lot of it is concentration – we’ve been working hard on that, been concentrating the whole time.

“One week it was errors, the next week it was missed tackles – we’re just constantly working on that and I’m feeling really positive that everyone’s come back with a good mindset this week and ready to put in a good performance.”
