Dave Tyrrell will return to the Rabbitohs starting line-up this weekend, and the prop is keen to lead from the front when he dons the number 10 jersey against the North Queensland Cowboys this Friday in Townsville.
Tyrrell missed last week’s match against the Sydney Roosters, but his inclusion in this week’s team will not only see the return of his consistent go-forward, but also paves the way for Sam Burgess to revert back to his favoured position at lock,
For his part, Tyrrell is focussed on doing his very best this Friday by playing any role necessary for the betterment of the team.
“Everyone wants to play their best footy every weekend – I’m working hard to play my best footy every weekend,” said Tyrrell.
“It’s my job, it’s what I get paid to do so I’m happy to do whatever the team needs.”
The Rabbitohs come into the match having gone down to the Roosters in Round 6, while the Cowboys have won their last two games – the Paul Green coached side currently undefeated at home in 2016.
But Tyrrell and his men in Red and Green aren’t reading into any of that, with the side intent on playing their best footy against the defending Premiers.
“We want to put our best performance in this weekend,” said Tyrrell.
“We know we can be a lot better than what we are being and we want to put (in) our best performance.”
