Walker – My Kids Inspire Me

Family is a central part of life at the Rabbitohs and that’s certainly the case for five-eighth Cody Walker, who says that his two children are his inspiration.

“My main inspiration is my kids at home,” smiled Walker.

“I’ve got two young kids and they absolutely love footy. My little fella (and both of them) love the Bunnies – he’s got a haircut of the bunny in his hair and absolutely loves it mate.”

Just over a month after making his first grade debut for the Club against the Roosters, Walker will line up against the Tricolours again this Friday when he helps steer the team around at five-eighth alongside Luke Keary in the halves.

The combination has gotten on with the job in the absence of regular halfback, Adam Reynolds, who is now edging ever-closer to a return to the field in the coming weeks pending scans.

But Walker is completely focused on contributing to the team this week.

“No pressure at all,” said Walker when asked if the pending return of Reynolds applied pressure to him.

“We’re just worried about doing our job each week and when ‘Reyno’ comes back, Madge will make that call.

“You don’t look too far ahead. We’re looking to Friday night – that’s all we can control really.

“It’s always good to have that strong competition and it’s no different here.”
