Keary Proud of ‘Gutsy’ Effort

Luke Keary has described his side’s Round 5, 16-12 victory over the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles as ‘gutsy’ following a strong defensive effort.

An opening 15 minute flurry of points saw the Rabbitohs race out to a 16-0 lead before the Sea Eagles turned on the heat to fight back.

But while Keary’s side didn’t add to that tally for the remainder of the match, a monumental defensive effort saw them keep a fast-finishing and enthusiastic Sea Eagles outfit away from the two points.

“I think it was just a gutsy win,” said Keary.

“We started off really well and we knew Manly were going to come back at us hard – and they did. The defensive effort in the second half especially was something I’m really proud of.”

The Rabbitohs will now prepare to take on the Sydney Roosters at ANZ Stadium in Friday Night Football. Click here to purchase tickets.
