Sea Eagles Name Round 5 Team

The Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles have named their team to take on the Rabbitohs in tomorrow’s (Thursday’s) Round 5 clash at Brookvale Oval.

Daly Cherry-Evans (syndesmosis) will miss the clash with Apisai Koroisau named at halfback for the Sea Eagles. Lewis Brown and Josh Starling have been named on the bench due to Steve Matai (neck) and Brenton Lawrence (suspension) returning at centre and prop respectively.

Meanwhile, Martin Taupau returns from suspension, coming into the team for Jamie Buhrer who has been ruled out with a hand injury. Luke Burgess and Blake Leary are named on coach Trent Barrett’s extended bench.

Coming off a win against the Roosters last week, Barrett told Seaeagles.com.au this week that his forwards will need to aim up defensively.

“They’re a really big team (the Rabbitohs) – we’re going to have to be very good defensively,” said Barrett.

“A big job for our forward pack and we just need to again be better than we were last week.”

The Rabbitohs also named their team for the Round 5 clash yesterday (Tuesday) with the side set to welcome back Sam and Thomas Burgess back into the forward pack, while in the back-line, Kirisome Auva’a will line up on the wing.
