With thousands of Rabbitohs Members residing in Queensland, Pizzey Park is sure to have its fair share of Red and Green when the Rabbitohs take on the Gold Coast Titans this Saturday afternoon.

Rabbitohs Head Coach, Michael Maguire, knows Queensland’s passion for the Rabbitohs first-hand, having seen it on a number of occasions on away trips of years gone by.

“We’re spoilt when we go up to the Gold Coast,” said Maguire.

“There are people that have moved up there and they enjoy Souths being on the Coast, but we’ve got a lot of followers up around Brisbane too so we get a few of them coming down.

“We always look forward to seeing our fans, and as I talk about all the time, they’re a big part of what we do.”

Over 3500 proud Queensland Rabbitohs chose to Stand Above the Rest in season 2015, and that number could be about to rise again on the eve of the 2016 NRL Telstra Premiership – now just two weeks away.

“It’s a journey we go on all together every year,” Maguire told

“I say it all the time, all our Members and supporters are a big part of what we do at this Club, and we can’t wait to see all the Red and Green in the stands this year.

With the Auckland Nines and Charity Shield now firmly in the rear-view mirror, the Rabbitohs are now fully focused on fine-tuning their game against the Gold Coast Titans this Saturday.

“All the players are hungry to play and they’re standing up and taking their opportunities for the benefit of the team,” said Rabbitohs assistant Coach, Kurt Wrigley.

“We’ll be looking for a good, consistent performance from the boys while allowing some of the up and comers some more game time to show what they have.

“Working on the combinations that you’ve toiled on through the summer is another big thing, and to do it against strong opposition like the Titans is certainly a good thing.”

Rabbitohs new faces such as Hymel Hunt, Cody Walker, Zane Musgrove, and John Olive – who all benefitted from game-time in the Charity Shield – will again get an opportunity against the Gold Coast outfit in what will be the Club’s final trial of the 2016 pre-season.
