Rabbitohs Head Coach, Michael Maguire, has been pleased with a number of things so far during his team’s pre-season training period, but one fact has stood out among the rest – the level of enjoyment.
As the men in Red and Green prepare to wrap up their training heading into Christmas, Maguire spoke to Rabbitohs.com.au about the buoyant mood in the camp.
“I’ve been impressed by the boys,” said Maguire.
“We’ve obviously come in after a break and their heads are down and working together to achieve the things that we do each day.
“I think the thing that’s been impressive is how they turn up – they’re turning up and enjoying what they’re doing. That’s one thing I have noticed since they’ve been back.”
But that hasn’t been the only thing to catch Maguire’s attention. The mentor has also been pleased by the high level of professionalism shown by his players to turn up to pre-season training in shape.
“Pre-seasons are changing – the way the boys hold their professionalism around what needs to be done now is a real credit to our players,” said Maguire.
“The way they turn up allows them to move further forward each day, so it’s been good how they’ve been jumping into things.”
