Did you know that club legend and Souths junior, Nathan Merritt, holds the record for most first-grade career tries for the Club?
Find out how many tries he scored in the First Grade Scoring Feats section of our Club Records page on rabbitohs.com.au.
One of the Club’s favourite sons and modern-day legends, Merritt is best remembered for his lightning speed and ability to find the try-line, showcased throughout his illustrious career wearing the red and green.
An Alexandria Rovers product that grew up in Redfern, Merritt made his NRL debut in 2002 and played 13 seasons in the NRL – eleven seasons with the Rabbitohs and two with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.
During his playing career at the Rabbitohs, the try-scoring phenomenon also represented New South Wales, NSW City, the Prime Minister’s XIII and the Indigenous All-Stars.
Since retiring in 2014, Merritt has devoted a significant amount of time to the local South Sydney community.
