The Rabbitohs Family is experiencing a mini-baby boom, with 44 new-borns – and counting – having signed up in the month since going on sale.

From baby Charlie Rose McMahon, to Kira Faith Beryl Monahan, the future of the Rabbitohs is looking bright as the next generation of proud Members come into the world and are signed up mere hours after being welcomed by their families. In all, the Club now has 311 Baby Members signed up for 2016.

And you can add baby Matisse Wright to the growing list as well – signed up just three weeks after coming into the world by proud parents Mac and Alice.

After taking a stroll around Redfern with Matisse, mad-Rabbitoh Mac seized the opportunity to visit the Club’s Chalmers Street offices to sign his daughter up.

“I just love Souths so I wanted my daughter to be a part of it – It’s a passion of mine,” said Mac moments after making Matisse a Member.

“I converted Alice a couple of years ago, so we’re definitely a red and green family now, which is great because I actually came from a family full of Tigers fans. It’s good to finally be surrounded by red and green.

“I had pet rabbits as a kid and a little Souths football that I picked out of a shop when I was two or three. I carried it everywhere then and Souths became a big part of me. Ever since then I’ve just loved the Rabbits.”

“I do shift work now, so sometimes it’s hard for me to get to the games, and when I can’t it is pretty disappointing. But whenever I can manage it, I might try and change shifts so I can watch the game – it’s torture when you know there’s a game on and you can’t watch it!”

For Mac, who has been a Member since 2006, the opportunity to share his love of the Rabbitohs with his daughter is something he’s looking forward to.

“Sitting in the crowd is awesome, so to be able to do it with my daughter will be pretty special – it really does feel like a family and I want that for my daughter,” said Mac.

“We have the best set of fans in the competition for sure – we’re the people’s team and that just adds to the reasons why we wanted to be a part of this.”
