Rabbitohs prop-forward, Thomas Burgess, had another solid year in 2015, leading from the front alongside twin brother George in the Club’s front row.
After making his debut in 2013, Burgess has been steadily on the improve, gaining representative selection for England while building upon his explosive running game during his 51 first grade appearances for the Rabbitohs.
Thomas appeared in 24 matches during season 2015, scoring two tries in the process and establishing himself as a viable starting prop-forward –amazingly, a role he has only recently taken on.
Like his twin brother, George, Thomas averaged 138 metres per game during the course of the year, but topped the team in terms of raw metres with 3458 across all matches.
Unsurprisingly – given his 120kg, 196cm body – Burgess broke some 41 tackles, proving himself a handful for opposition defences while also managing to offload on 11 occasions.
On the other side of the ball, the Englishman was among the side’s top defenders with 595 tackles for an efficiency of 91.1%.
