Rabbitohs Head Coach, Michael Maguire, expressed his thanks to the Rabbitohs Family in his Fujitsu Post-Match Reaction following Week 1 of the Finals.
From Members and supporters, to his staff and players, the Rabbitohs mentor extended his thanks to all those involved in the Club’s journey through the 2015 season.
“I just want to say thank you to a lot of people,” said Maguire.
“To our supporters and to the players and our staff that put so much time and effort into what we all set out to achieve and that’s to be there on the big day.
“We’ll scrub ourselves off, look at this season and move forward in the direction we want.
“You go through highs and lows in this game and to watch the supporters go through that with us – it is tough at times.
“One thing I know about South Sydney Rugby League Club – it’s a strong fighting Club.” – Maguire.
“We aspire to do it all again and the dream to continually be a Club that wants to be at their best every single week is one that we forge and fight for.

After finishing in seventh position on the competition ladder, the men in red and green weren’t able to trump Cronulla in the first week of the Finals, going down to the Sharks by 28-12 at Allianz Stadium.
Maguire couldn’t fault the level of effort and commitment from his team though, with players pulling out all the stops in their preparation according to the Head Coach, while the likes of Greg Inglis turned out for the match just two weeks after having knee surgery.
“I can’t fault the commitment of all the boys,” said Maguire.
“Every day (they) turn up and do what they need to, to get themselves at their best out on the field each week.
“Unfortunately we ran a little bit short towards the back end of this season through injuries, some unfortunate suspensions – it made things a little bit more difficult, but moving forward, we learned a lot of lessons.
“I’m really looking forward – as we speak – on what’s ahead. We’ve got a great Club that’s continually building and improving.”
