The intensity in our win over the Cowboys was almost Origin-like. We stood up and showed what we are capable of! This is proving to be an exciting back end of the season!
I was super impressed with Auva’a’s return. His passion was extraordinary. I’m sure that there’s plenty more to come from him, and if he holds that intensity level, then combined with GI, Johnston and Walker, our outside backs will be a handful for any opposition.
Losing Issac will be a challenge for us as he was amazing in all aspects against the Cowboys – his pass to Clark for a try was brilliant. He has done so much for our Club on and off the field and looks after his team-mates with his big heart. So while he won’t be on the field this week, I’m sure he’ll be helping the boys in any way he can this week from the stands.
Another stand out against the Cowboys was Thomas Burgess. The try he scored reminded me of a number of tries that George has scored over the past few years. How good is it to have two of them!
So having said that, can we continue to build on these performances against the Dogs on Friday night? Even with the challenge of a few re-shuffles, a couple of suspensions, and a few niggles I’m confident that the boys are capable of moving onwards and upwards.
I think we’re building on a great feeling at the moment, but the boys need us! It’s that feeling of seeing GI and AJ combine for that brilliant try in Round 2, or that feeling of cheering the boys over the line with a thunderous ‘SOUTH SYDNEY’ chant. It’s feelings like that, and emotions like that, that make a season special and help the boys to play to their best.
It’s time for us to take it to the Bulldogs, Rabbitohs Members.
Let’s Go Rabbitohs!!
