Rabbitohs prop-forward Thomas Burgess is pleased with how his team reacted in last night’s big win over the Newcastle Knights at ANZ Stadium.

The Newcastle side looked well in control in the opening four minutes of the match, picking up a try through Kade Snowden through the middle. But that was all the Knights could muster, with the Rabbitohs reacting by putting in a ten try romp to score a record win over the side.

“The Knights came out hard and we knew they were going to do that – it was good how the boys reacted to it,” admitted Burgess

“It was great to obviously get the points differential up there for us. Around this time of the season it’s important I suppose with how tight the competition is.

“We were just very focussed on our defence last night. We let that first try in at the start but it was great to keep them out for the rest of the game."
